Suzan Swale

 

Suzan Swale has been exhibiting since 1969. She graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in painting in 1972.

Painting is the main focus in Swale's work, though she has made installations and neon artworks and uses photography and print and was part of a successful performance group for eight years. As a student she won awards which include The John Minton Scholarship and The Royal Institution Award.

She has taught at numerous art institutions including Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design.

Suzan Swale's work is in public and private collections, notably she has works in the Grabowski Collection in The Sztuki Museum, Lodz, Poland. Important recent exhibitions include “Swinging London” Museum Sztuki, Lodz, Poland 2007, “Pop Art in Europe” Museum Het Valkhof, Nijmegan, Netherlands, 2012-2013 and a solo exhibition at the Cello Factory, London, 2015.

 

Suzan Swale was born in 1946 in Nottingham. She currently lives and works in London and Greece and has been a member of The London Group since 1984.
